Dr. Epstein is the Chief Executive Officer of Chicago Cornea Consultants, Ltd. He received his M.D. from Rush Medical College and completed an internship and ophthalmology residency at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago. He subsequently completed fellowships in ocular immunology research and cornea-external diseases at Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia, sponsored by a Research Service Award from the National Institutes of Health/National Eye Institute, the Heed Foundation, and the Heed/Knapp Foundation.

Dr. Randy Epstein is actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and numerous ophthalmologists, both nationally and internationally and is a member of the faculty of Rush University, where he is a Professor of Medicine, Dept. of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Randy Epstein also serves as a consultant to numerous corporations and medical advisory boards, committing his time and efforts to helping shape the evolving world of refractive surgery. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS), the Illinois Association of Ophthalmology, the Chicago Ophthalmological Society, and the International Society of Refractive Surgery/ American Academy of Ophthalmology (ISRS/AAO). He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO). In addition to being listed numerous times as one of Chicago’s “top doctors” by Chicago Magazine, he has received the Honor Award and, in 2004, the Senior Achievement Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the Emory University Distinguished Alumnus Award.

Dr. Epstein's special interests include the surgical and laser treatment of presbyopia and other refractive errors, immunological diseases of the cornea, and the treatment of laser, refractive and cataract surgery complications. He lectures frequently, both locally and nationally, on many of these subjects.
