Trust.

It’s essential to have trust in your relationship between you and your doctor.

It’s also why you should consider the LASIK and refractive experts surgeon listed in our sponsored directory.

Others May Say They Are the Best LASIK Doctors, But Our LASIK Directory Only Lists Surgeons You Can Trust With Confidence.

10 Reasons Why the Surgeons at Trusted LASIK Surgeons Are Among the Most Trusted You Can Find in the World.

1. Trusted for FDA Studies. Most of the refractive surgeons listed at the Trusted LASIK Surgeons web site are trusted by the manufacturers of lasers and other refractive medical devices to participate as investigators in FDA Studies for new medical devices (e.g., lens implants). We estimate that only 1 to 5% of LASIK surgeons in the United States have participated in an FDA study.

2. Trusted When Things Go Wrong. People who have significant complications from a surgery (such as LASIK or cataracts) performed by other doctors often select surgeons listed on our web site to manage and treat these complications.

3. Trusted by Eye Professionals To Perform Their Surgeries. Eye doctors, optometrists, opticians, and other eye care professionals as well as their families trust surgeons listed at the Trusted LASIK Surgeons web site to perform their laser vision or refractive surgery procedure.

4. Trusted and Relied Upon by Their Peers for Research. Most of the surgeons listed at our web site are involved in the most current research on LASIK and other refractive surgeries. Consequently, these surgeons are trusted by the major ophthalmology organizations to give presentations to their peers and they are trusted by the top ophthalmology journals which publish their articles and research.

5. Trusted by Medical Schools for Academic Appointments. Many of the surgeons listed in our directory are trusted by the ophthalmology departments at medical schools at major universities in order to assist in the training of enrolled residents and fellows.

6. Experience. Nearly all of the surgeons listed at Trusted LASIK Surgeons have at least 10 years of experience in all refractive procedures, including LASIK, PRK and other refractive surgery procedures (lens implants) and have performed at least 2000 refractive vision correction procedures.

7. Complete Refractive Surgeons Who Use the FDA-Approved Best Lasers Available on the Market. Nearly all of the LASIK surgeons listed in our directory offer complete refractive care. This means these surgeons have been certified by the manufacturer to perform all of the possible refractive surgery options, not just those involving lasers (like LASIK and PRK) but also those surgeries that take place inside the eye (such as lens implants). In fact, many of the surgeons listed here train other refractive surgeons in the use of medical devices used to perform LASIK and other vision correction procedures. In addition, all of the surgeons listed at the Trusted LASIK Surgeons web site utilize the IntraLase or "bladeless" LASIK procedures and have been certified by at least one laser manufacturer to perform “Custom” (or wavefront-based) laser eye surgery. The combination of the IntraLase and Wavefront-based procedures ("all laser" LASIK) has been shown to increase the percentage of patients achieving 20/20 vision or better and to reduce the frequency of night vision complaints.

8. No Hidden Costs. When you visit a surgeon listed at Trusted LASIK Surgeons, there are no substantial ad-ons tucked away as hidden fees just to get you in the door. Many other LASIK surgeons and practices advertise LASIK at discounted rates or make great sounding guarantees. When it sounds to good to be true there is usually a catch. For example, discount LASIK ads often only apply to prospective patients who are slightly nearsighted (-1.00 Dioptors or less) and who do not require correction for astigmatism. We estimate that less than 2% of patients who come in for LASIK fit the above requirements to for the discounted rate. In fact, the people who meet the above requirements typically never seek LASIK or another procedure because they are satisfied with their vision. Another catch to many of the ads for discounted LASIK is that they do not include “All Laser” LASIK (a.k.a. bladeless LASIK) or wavefront-based LASIK or PRK, either of which will substantially increase the cost of your vision correction procedure. We recommend calling and finding out exactly what the costs are before scheduling a consultation with any LASIK doctor.

9. Board Certified. All of the surgeons listed at the Trusted LASIK Surgeons web site have been certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, which is the oldest and most reputable certifying board for medical doctors specializing in ophthalmology.

10. Members of Nationwide Ophthalmology Organizations. All of the doctors listed on our web site are members of American Academy of Ophthalmology and nearly every surgeon is also a member of at least one major refractive society.

All of the surgeons listed at the Trusted LASIK Surgeons web site must meet a minimum number of the unique qualifications developed by our company. Most surgeons in the United States Surgeons do not meet the minimum number of qualifications used in our screening process, and, consequently, are not even eligible to be listed in our directory. These unique qualifications make up our Trusted LASIK Qualifications.

1. Confidence in Your Doctor.

  • All Doctors Are Pre-Screened to Ensure They Meet Our Unique Qualifications. In cities with populations over 500,000, refractive surgeons must meet at least eight of the Trusted LASIK Surgeons Qualifications. In cities with populations under 500,000, refractive surgeons must meet at least seven of the Trusted LASIK Surgeons Qualifications and they must submit a letter of recommendation from another refractive specialist who meets at least nine of the Trusted LASIK Surgeons Qualifications. • Personalized Physician Care. Our web site only lists individual refractive surgeons. The LASIK surgeons listed here have represented that they will personally evaluate your case and be available to perform the surgery (although each doctor reserves the right to use their professional judgment in determining whether to perform any given procedure or to refer you to another eye refractive specialist for a second opinion or treatment).
